Kotoko Defender Edusei Set To Join South African Side Bidvest Wits
Ghanaian defender Kwabena Edusei will arrive in South Africa this week to complete a move to top-flight side Bidvest Wits, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The Kotoko centre-back will travel to South Africa by Tuesday to complete the move to the Students, an agent close to the deal has told Ghana?s leading football news outlet.
The hard-tackling centre-back will undergo a medical before the deal is sealed.
Edusei is regarded as one of the top defenders in the Ghana top-flight and his departure will further deplete the central defence of the Porcupine Warriors.
That? is because his central defensive partner Rashid Sumaila has already sealed a deal with fellow South African club Sundowns.
Edusei is a member of Ghana?s home-based national team because of his strong performances for the Porcupine Warriors.
He is expected to play a major role in the team that experienced defensive problems this past season.
The defender joins a growing number of Ghanaian players who have signed for South African sides this off-season.
