A lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Mr. Kwasi Amakye has taken a strong position against the crop of National Executives of the NPP who are seeking re-election.

He said the current crop of executives have no reason for putting themselves up for this elections slated for Saturday the 12th of April, 2014. ?In any civil democracy, they would have resigned for not being able to realized the
dream for which they were elected? he added.

Mr. Kwasi Amakye was speaking to Radio Gold Morning Show host Valentina Ofori Afriyie on the Gold Power Drive this morning 11th April, 2014.

He went further to state his reasons for writing off all the executives. He stated clearly that Jake Obitsebi Lamptey should not have put himself up but added that Fred Oware could be excused since he was a subordinate to Jake.

Mr. Amakye did not spare the current General Secretary of the NPP Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John. According to Mr. Kwasi Amakye, Sir John is not appealing to the NPP let alone to the Ghanaian public. He sighted the attacks on Sir John from within whenever he speak from his own people and asked if the same attacks are carried on the General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia from within his party. According to him, that is an indication that Sir John has lost what is required to win votes for the victory of the NPP.

When asked by his analysis which states that all old executives be voted out if that applies to the flagbearership race, he did not hesitate to state continuously that Nana Addo is not appealing to the electorates. He described the two-time defeated presidential candidate of the NPP as ?old goods?.

Mr. Amakye reiterated his point that should the NPP retain Akuffo Addo as their flagbearer, the NDC would not need to do much to win the 2016 elections. According to him, President John Dramani Mahama had barely no time to campaign ahead of the 2012 elections but ended up defeating Nana Addo
Danquah Akuffo Addo.

Mr. Amakye emphasized the point that they campaigned against the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills on the economic situation which are still being looked into by President Mahama and yet, the personality of Akuffo Addo could not attract the much needed votes to defeat President John Dramani Mahama when he came fresh on the political scene for a position Akuffo Addo had contested earlier. To Mr. Amakye, there is nothing new Akuffo Addo is bringing on board if he couldn?t bring same in his twice-defeated bid.
