Indomitable Lions Coach Volker Finke, was recently named the Personality of the Year 2013 for qualifying the Indomitable Lions to the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The annual award organised by leading brewery in the country, Les Brasseries du Cameroun, is given to a personality for contributing to social and cultural progress in Cameroon. German Born Volker Finke, 65 years old and former manager of SC Freiburg, was appointed in May 2013 to head the Lions after lack of notable success under four previous coaches; Paul Le Guen, Javier Clemente, Denis Lavagne and Jean Paul Akono.
Under his reign, he was able to transform the team and instil in them the winning mentality. Cameroon are in Group A of the 2014 World Cup and will open their campaign against Mexico on June 13, before subsequently facing Croatia and hosts, Brazil.
