A private legal practitioner and ardent advocate for Ex-President John Mahama’s comeback, Edudzi Kudzo Tamakloe, has counseled his colleague adherents of the former President not to tongue lash virulent critics of Mr. Mahama if they genuinely love him.
Lawyer Tamakloe, who doubles as deputy Greater Accra Youth Organizer of the biggest opposition party, said what others see as ‘internal contest’ for which there has been hot exchanges between party activists on social media is an illusion.
According to him, given the large following of Mr Mahama, the other flag bearer hopefuls will only share the few dissenting and disgruntled NDC supporters at the party’s congress to elect a leader for the 2020 elections.
Using himself as an example, he wrote on his facebook; “I have decided to disengage completely and focus on our common opponent, the NPP and their incompetence, tribalism, nepotism, corruption, abuse of office, cronyism, thievery and clannish governance”.
His advice was in reaction to recent fierce trading of words between some supporters of the former President and an NDC flag bearer hopeful, Prof Joshua Alabi, over who leads the party into the next general elections.
Read below what Lawyer Edudzi Kudzo Tamakloe wrote on his facebook wall…
Good morning, comrades.
Going forward, if you genuinely love President Mahama, I am begging you not to engage anyone in any verbal abuse or violence on Facebook in respect of the so called internal contest.
First there is no contest really. With such large numbers, that front is already broken.
It is basic.
They are just going to share the few dissents.
I have decided to disengage completely and focus on our common opponent, the NPP and their incompetence, tribalism, nepotism, corruption, abuse of office, cronyism, thievery and clannish governance.
If you genuinely love President Mahama, please focus on 2020 election.
Please adopt a polling station.
Nurture it for the task ahead.
Please remember to write a nice article on the unprecedented achievements of President Mahama.
Tag as many people in the post highlighting these achievements.
Don’t engage anyone claiming to support those individuals who want to contest.
Contest is good.
The bulk of our party people are not on Facebook.
The more we engage in this, the NPP will run away with murder.
They will run away with contaminated fuel thievery.
They will run away with the $2.25bn bonds, which will get us to pay $487m every year for 15yrs.
Yesterday, Accra fm sent their reporters to various markets, from the market women, it was clear that people are not buying things.
The price of basic food items have gone up.
Let us highlight these things.
Ghanaians are not interested in our so called contest, their interest is our ability to put the feet of this corrupt and incompetent administration.
All these individuals claiming they want contest won’t pick the nomination forms.
I am not old enough but I was at Legon campus, at the back of the Political Science department when the Hon Spio, Hon Eddie Annan and others contested our beloved Professor Mills for the flag bearer race.
It was believed that some of them were sponsored by the national security under Kufour just to frustrate Professor Mills.
The rest is history.
All the young people deployed to attack President Mahama in their hearts know he is miles ahead.
They are not contemplating a contest. They are working for damage.
Please don’t give them justification to continue.
Please for the sake of our great party, don’t engage further.
It is difficult to resist the temptation but please try. For the sake of our party
Very soon, these colleagues engaged in the attacks will be approached by the NPP national security people to cause further destruction of our great party.
Don’t allow yourself as the conduit for them to build their relevance.
They are marketing themselves to the NPP to be used against us.
The NPP knows that the tables have changed, they have responsibilities to Ghanaians.
In 2020, they will have the responsibility to tell Ghanaians if food prices have gone down?
Has the prices of gas and petrol gone down?
They can’t stand the heat.
Have you noticed that the President is still campaigning?
Four years is just a day, cometh like a thief.
I listened to Ken Agyapong yesterday complaining about how Nana Addo has sidelined people from Central region in the appointment of his ambassadors among others.
I compared it to how President Mahama applied wisdom in his appointments.
How he achieved balance, fairness and equity in the distribution of his appointments.
It is a delicate balancing act.
Let us going forward celebrate President Mahama
Growing in Nkwanta, Kadjebi and Kpando, we always threw stones at RIPE mangoes after school.
Ripe mangoes attract stones.
President Mahama can’t be destroyed.
It is late.
Let us focus on reorganization.
Let me conclude with the words of Hon Dr Omane Boamah,”organize, don’t agonize.”
God bless you for your time.
