An Accra Circuit Court, Presided over by Madam Patricia Quansah on Monday sentenced a mason, Alidu Fuseini to 15 years imprisonment ,for defiling a 14 year-old girl.
Alidu was convicted on his own plea.
Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Agnes Boafo told the court that the complainant is a taxi driver at Gbawe, and a step-father of the victim, while the convict lives in the same house with the complainant.
She said on October 22, the complainant was in his room when suddenly the convict chased the victim into their room and started beating her up mercilessly.
She told the court that the complainant asked the victim what had happened and she told him that the convict has been having sex with her in their room and does not want her to talk to any man or disclose the ordeal to her parents.
ASP Boafo said the victim stated that she was chatting with a classmate when Alidu saw her and started beating her.
According to the prosecution, a report was made and Alidu was arrested. He admitted the offence in his caution statement
