Mr. Tagoe made the remarks at a get-together he organised for senior citizens in Effutu to commemorate this year’s Republic Day at Winneba.
Mr. Tagoe, therefore, appealed to members of both the Ghartey and Ayirebi-Acquah families to bury their differences in the dispute and unite for the common good of the Effutu State.
The MCE said his Administration would soon launch a special programme to engage the stakeholders in the chieftaincy feud at a roundtable conference towards seeking peace and unity.
He expressed regret that the lack of unity had caused the traditional set up a great deal, saying it was about time all and sundry ‘let the by-gone be by-gone,’ and forged ahead towards the growth of the area.
Mr. Tagoe expressed the hope that the peace-loving citizens in the area would accept his initiative and offer the necessary support in the interest of Effutuman.
Some senior citizens, including traditional leaders, Ministers of the Gospel, Elders from the Zongo Community and Opinion leaders, shared their active service experiences.
Mr Tagoe said it was important share the accumulated rich experiences and knowledge with the younger generation to help move the area and the nation forward.
Apostle James Gymea (retired) of the Church of Pentecost, in his contributions, stated that there was only one Ghana, therefore, every individual should contribute his or her quota to ensure peaceful elections on November 7.
He urged politicians to tolerate the views of each other and conduct their campaigns in a peaceful manner – devoid of insults and personal attacks – to help sustain the peace of the nation.
