Women and children were reported to have fled Nankpanduri in the Northern region to neighboring communities on Tuesday as a result of the continual exchange of gunfire between Bimobas and Konkombas.
Reports have it that economic activities have halted.
Two people were reported dead while the injured are being treated at the Baptist Medical Centre in Nalerigu.
Elijah Sillim, a resident of Nakpanduri told Citi Newson Tuesday, “This morning the Konkombas attacked us again and we managed to push them back.”
“We are in Nakpanduri waiting and whoever comes to enter or to attack us we will defend the village; this is a battle field and we are ready for anything,” he declared.
The disturbances started Sunday night as some Konkombas and Bimobas argue over a piece of land meant for the construction of a school. Both factions are claiming ownership of the land.
The police are said to be at the scene and maintaining peace.
