Tension is gradually taken over the NDC fold at the Okaikoi North Constituency Okaikoi over attempts to frustrate the Parliamentary Candidate of the area, Andrew Okaikoi from possibly winning the seat.

Information gathered has it that there are feverent?attempts by some top party functionaries teaming up with some ward executives in the constituency to lodge a secret campaign against their candidate, in the?event?that their proposed re-run of the constituency primaries does not come on.
Reliable information received from the constituency is that, this secret campaign is going to take a form in which, disgruntled party members who are against Mr. Andrew Okaikoi?s candidature, would step up a door-to-door campaign, but underground, enticing eligible voters to vote against their candidate during the elections.
This decision has come up as result of the fact that majority of the NDC supporters in the constituency are kicking against the proposed re-run of the primaries.
Concerned NDC supporters within the Okaikoi North Constituency are bitterly angrered at the proposal to conduct a re-run of the primaries. According to them, the constituency went into hibernation after the victory of the NDC in the 2008 general elections and it was only when Hon. Andrew Okaikoi made his intention of contesting on the party?s ticket as the PC, did they see some form of reinvigoration within the branches.? ?He traversed the nook and crevices of the constituency and touched base with every branch within the various wards. Despite the spewing of invectives, aspersions, innuendos, insults and unsubstantiated allegations on his self and those of his supporters, he remained magnanimous in his victory while a few discontented elements decided to be ungracious in their defeat.?
They have also indicated that, his popularity among the delegates ensured his unanimous winning of the primaries with a vast majority of the valid votes cast, Family enough, the total sum of votes of his contenders could even not sum up to the votes he obtained, and hence must be recognised as such and given the needed support.
?We are just a few weeks away from the general elections and instead of focusing on mapping to wrestle the seat from the incumbent NPP, some disgruntled members who we have cause to believe to have been entices with material wealth, coupled with their sycophant cohorts who parade themselves within the corridors of power just to serve their selfish and parochial interests are busily strategizing on how to marginalize a insure to the NDC?s benefit if we are really bent on annexing the seat.?
According to concerned NDC supporters of the copnstuituency, they would not sit down and allow the few discontented elements to divide the party, saying that, ?there is no need for factionalism within the party because it will be subversive to the collective interets of the constituency and the NDC party at large.?
?We wish to reiterate unequivocally and unambiguously that a re-run of the primaries will not only serve a bad precedence for posterity but will also amount to a stolen verdict and travesty of justice for Hon Andrew Okaikoi.?
They are also sending a very atern warning to people behind the orchestrated attempt to frustrate the candidate to desist from that as they will also not allow anyone or group of people to hold them to ransom any longer.
?We are for peace and unity within the constituency and the party so for now we shall watch closely how future events unfold and advise ourselves accordingly if ever the need arise.?
According to them, Andrew Okaikoi remains resolute, unwavering and unperturbed to the various forms of allegations beign levelled against him, ?because they just wount see the light of day.?
