Nigeria’s Petroleum Products Consumer Protection Agency (PPCPA) has warned petrol dealers in the country against inflicting hardship on the people by hoarding the product.
Any fuel marketer caught hoarding the product or selling above the approved pump price would be made to face the wrath of the government, Samuel Adeyemi, the agency’s chairman in southwest Ekiti State told reporters in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday.
“Any filling station caught hoarding the product or selling petrol above the official pump price would not only be sanctioned, but will have such filling station sealed off,” he added.
He told reporters that there should not be any reason for the country to be suffering to get the product.
He appealed to the marketers to bring the allotted supply to the state to reduce the hardship currently being faced by the people.
Adeyemi assured the people of the state that there would be availability of the product before the week runs out.
He urged the people to remain calm as government is doing everything possible to ensure that there is adequate supply of the product in the state soon.
