Santos have dismissed reports claiming Manchester United had tabled a mammoth ?38 million bid for Brazil playmaker Neymar on transfer deadline day.
The Red Devils were believed to have put forward the mega-money offer towards the end of the August 31 deadline as Sir Alex Ferguson moved to strengthen his options after missing out on a deal for Neymar?s compatriot Lucas Moura earlier in the off-season.
However, the Brazilian club insist they received no contact from United over a potential deal for Neymar, with Santos? football director Felipe Faro telling Globo Esporte: ?I have no idea where that came from, but it?s not true.?
Neymar is currently preparing with his national team-mates ahead of Friday?s friendly international against South Africa in Sao Paulo.
