The New Patriotic Party (NPP) with?immediate?effect has pulled all its four members at the EC Strong Room who are helping in?collating?the final results for the party.

The?party in?a press conference earlier in the day expressed concerns over some irregularities in the?presidential polls?results. This they are of?the viewneeded looking into by the EC

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan who is also?the Returning?Officer of the Elections andsigned?by its Chairman, Mr Jake Obetsebi Lamptey. The party said it is not happy with ?the widespread and systemic abuse of the electoral process?.

The party is consequently calling on the EC Boss to consider the widespread and systemic abuse of the electoral process, witnessed across the country and aided by H.E. the President John Dramani Mahama?s statement for people to vote even if not verified by?the machines, which is unlawful.

The party has therefore decided to redraw its members from the EC Strong Room to enable to Commissioner to address the following:

? Cause an audit of the Verification Machine to establish that it tallies with Constituency Collated?signed?results and

? Order a re-collation of the?presidential?ballot at the constituency level to help establish the credibility and accuracy of this year?s?Presidential?election.

The ruling National Democratic Congress? (NDC) representatives in the Strong Room has been informed of the development but clearly they are not enthused.

NPP?s call means, the EC will delay with the declaration of the final?resultsuntil a further and thorough investigation has been done into the allegations.?
