The Old Students’ Association of Sandema Senior High School (SANSEC) has supported the School with roofing sheets to help roof some facilities that were affected by rain storm during the past rainy season.

Eight packs of roofing sheets worth GHC3,600.00 were presented to the School by the Association to help reroof affected structures including the Girl’s Dormitory and some classrooms.

Presenting the items, Mr Godwin Wepeba Aloriweh, the President of the Association, said the Association had plans to support the School achieve quality teaching and learning and would be providing it with some basic logistics.

He said the School was lacking some educational amenities including transportation and infrastructure such as assembly and dining halls among other things, and the Association was working at seeking support from philanthropist, organizations and government to help.

The President of the Association, challenged the students to eschew negative behaviour such as truancy, class absenteeism, and disrespect of authority, and should rather focus on their studies.

Mr Kingsley Azantilow, the Assistant Headmaster for Administration of the School, commended the Association and said the items would be of much help.

Mr Azantilow said the School was performing well, but due to inadequate infrastructure, among other things, it was challenged when it came to producing academic excellence and called on stakeholders including government and the Parents Teachers’ Association among others to support it.

He expressed worry over an old uncompleted girls’ dormitory structure that had been abandoned due to government’s inability to complete it.

The School had a population of close to 2,000 and there was the need for academic logistics to aid it contain the numbers, he said and called on the government and other partners in education to help.
