The PDP Chaired by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff after its 71st National Executive meeting on Tuesday, is to hold its Convention in Port-Harcourt on May 21st while the other faction led by Prof Jerry Gana is hold its own Convention in Abuja same day.
The Jerry Gana led group known as the Concerned PDP stakeholders also inaugurated its steering on the Convention.
This is coming barely 24 hours Board of Trustees,BOT,members of the National Assembly, Party Governors and key stakeholders met on Monday to intervene in the ongoing crisis in the party.

However, Gana who was also present at the meeting also held a meeting in Abuja where the said steering committee was inaugurated.
In another development, the PDP national Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has cried out over biased witch-hunting and detention of its members by the government over the 2015 campaign funds.
In a communiqué read by Sheriff at the end of the meeting held at the PDP secretariat in Abuja, he said the government should also extend its probe to the ruling party All Progressive Congress APC.
He noted that about 20 of its members have been detained over campaign funds.
“The NEC also observed that members of the PDP were being arrested by anti graft agencies. Over 20 of our members are under lock by anti graft agencies because of the funds the party used for its campaign.
“We believe that PDP is not the only party that went for election, we are urging that the APC and other political parties should also be investigated. We are not against anybody being investigated but it should be a uniform rule for all parties in Nigeria.”he insisted.
