The Osun Police Command has held a 26-year-old man, Rafiu Idowu, in custody for allegedly raping and killing his 10-year-old cousin, Tawa Bilawu.
According to reports, the suspect confessed to have committed the offence, adding that he was lured by Bilawu into raping her when she paid a visit to him at his family residence at Ile-Ogbo in Ayedire Local Government Area of the state.
Making a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the state Police Command, Folashade Odoro, said the Idowu was arrested by a team of detectives from the State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Jimoh.
