Ghana Defender Rashid Sumaila Itching To Get Sundowns Career Started

Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila cannot wait to continue his playing career at Mamelodi Sundowns next week.

The centre-back will join the Chloorkop-based side after Asante Kotoko?s final Ghana Premier League match against Amidaus Professionals on Sunday.

Sumaila, who signed a pre-contact with the Brazilians in February, got his first taste of the facilities at club as part of the Ghana?s national team who trained there before their World Cup qualifier against Lesotho last Sunday.

The former Ghana youth international said he was ?feeling much at home? and looking forward to the challenge with his new team.

?I am very happy to have signed for Sundowns. This is a big club, the facilities here are good, and the reception has been great,? Sumaila told Sundowns? official website.

?I am ready to come out here and earn my place. From Lesotho, I will be going back to Ghana, then I return to my new home to join up with the rest of my new team-mates on the 24th.

?Of course, we will be working to make the club successful, and I am looking to delivering for the supporters of Mamelodi Sundowns.?

Sundowns will hold a one-week training programme in Ghana as part of their pre-season schedule.
