The Living Ark International Ministry at Kasoa in the Central region is replete with several young firebrand ministers of the Gospel.
One of such energetic young servants is twenty three year old Rev. Laud K. Akuffo serving as an Associate Pastor.
Born to Mr Bernard Akuffo and Mrs Margaret Akuffo on December 13th 1989, Laud went to a myriad of schools throughout the ten regions of Ghana because of family challenges.
Rev. Laud in an exclusive interview with this paper disclosed that he went through challenging times during his childhood due to the inter-religious marriage between the parents.
His father was a Muslim and his mother a Christian; and with his dad vehemently refusing the Christian indoctrinations by the mother, Laud had to virtually fend for himself.
Rev. Laud Akuffo has desired to serve in the vineyard of the Lord since infancy and this landed him in the Divine Bible Training Institute in Accra to receive the needed training to fulfil his calling.
Prior to his Biblical training, Laud embarked on several evangelical trips, preaching the word of God to every Tom Dick and Harry.
He ended up winning quite a number of souls for the Lord, souls who are still faithful in the work on God: this is premised on the fact that this servant of God believes so much in discipleship and almost always maintains constant communication and fellowship with the converts so as to nurture them in the faith.
Rev. Laud K. Akuffo has gone through the ranks as a worship leader, leading several worship services at different ministries in the country.
After graduating from the Divine Bible Training Institute, Rev. Laud began his pastoral assignment at Kibi in the Eastern region before relocating to his present Kasoa location.
He was ordained on the 2nd February 2011 after his graduation from the Bible School.
Rev. Laud?s call into the ministry has offered him the opportunity to preach the word of God oversees-Nigeria, Togo, Benin, just to mention a few.
His vibrancy, coupled with his age draws preaching invitations from many churches and fellowships especially youth based fellowships.
Rev. Laud, though very young, would not be intimidated by anyone because of his age and hangs on to the scripture which says ?let no one despise you because of your youth but be thou an example to the believers in word, conduct, faith and love,? I Timothy 4:12.
To this end, Rev. Laud is confident that God really called him into the ministry without any shadow of doubt.
?I think in general that being a Pastor is the greatest work that God has given to me because I love to serve the Lord always and it?s a great career that I have put unto myself.?
Rev. Laud Akuffo reminisced his days at Bible School, remarking that he was awarded the coveted prize of being the best gentleman of the year which corroborates his quiet and gentle nature.
His ministry, quite new, is bedeviled with quite a number of challenges; lack of appropriate instruments to enhance church service alongside financial constraints in meeting their evangelical calling.
Despite these difficulties, Rev. Akuffo is unrelenting; trusting that God would see his ministry through these challenging times.
This hinges on his unalloyed belief in the word of God and the works of the Holy Spirit.
Rev. Laud is single and still searching and has no children as well.
He however, hopes to get married in the near future to support his ministry.
The young Pastor aspires to get closer to his God and operate in diverse gifts of the Spirit of God to promote and equip the servants of God in the vineyard.
He also aspires to set up a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in the near future to support orphans and street children stressing that it was a burden God had laid on his heart.
The young Pastor believes in having lots of ?Spiritual Fathers? and mentioned Rev. John Baffour Awuah, of the Living Ark Ministries as one of his favourites.
He claims he desires more of such fathers to guide him to the echelon God wants to take him to.
Rev. Akuffo is thankful to God for placing him in the country Ghana, adding that Ghana is a blessed country without any shadow of doubt.
He also believes Ghana is quite peaceful and urged all to do everything necessary to maintain the peace and harmony we enjoy.
?Life is full of ups and downs but with the good Lord by our side I think everything that we will do as human beings will be possible.?
He called on the whole nation not to allow any political party to interfere with the peace we are enjoying in the country.
