Most of us will remember the past years in different ways. But, perhaps, what would soon become noteworthy event years to come would be the Economic Forum soon to be opened it is definitely going to be an additional instrument for furthering the objectives and ideals of change which we all desire.
By this, the pace of our economic revolution we all yearn for, would be accelerated, and younger people and apolitically fine minds in the academia and those sitting on the fence for good reasons would become more involved in the administration of the country. This latter element is very important in a situation like ours in which we have a significantly youthful population.
Because of unbridled political differences, we turn to sideline otherwise fine minds, persons whose input could have contributed enormously to our developmental agenda. We have produced A Secretary General of the United Nation and other high profile personalities on the world stage, Ghana was once the mecca of most countries fighting for political liberation, and these significant issues must prompt our conscience to know our uniqueness as a people. We must endeavour to tap all the excellent human resources bestowed on us by our creator rather than supporting negative posturing and comments from few mischievous and selfish persons to stray away these fine minds from contributing their quota. Those creating the impression that the forum is going to be a platform for NDC and NPP persons may be dwelling within the realm of political hallucination.
The forum is going to bring on board persons across the different spectrum who are authorities on the subjects to be discussed. We cannot allow these section of the intellectual empire to stay off our politics and national discourse all because they wear no party colors. To claiming that Bawumia will be there, their utterances depict the motives they attach to this important meeting, he can be there but would be exposed if he venture there in his full political cloak.
The economic challenges facing this country aren?t beyond reproach, we have the human tools and capacity as a people to overturn the table, we just must confront these issues with that deep nationalistic spirit and vigor, the development of our nation within the comity of nations must be on a steady pace and we can only achieve that if we stretch forth our hands to meet each other in that oneness spirit. To misinterpret this meeting to mean failure on the side of government can only represent the thinking of an anti Ghanaian.
This Forum is scrutinized well and handled well with no political colors, would actualize the principle of directive principles of state policy as captured in our constitution, one constitutional requirement government and after government have failed to adhere to. We must all help design a more comprehensive and national centered policies to direct our various manifestos.
Already some politicians whose only conviction in politics is to satisfy their personal egos, have started doing pure utopian politics with it, they always want the nation to go through that divisive politicking to serve their interest, their politics is no more about the nation and their localities but themselves and their immediate nuclear families watching millions of people suffer unduly because of the divisive politics we have plunged this nation into. We talk only about theoretical economics with its Briton wood indicators without moving down field to acquaint ourselves of practical problems confronting our unfortunate brothers and sisters.
I am humbly appealing to our intellectuals and those in the academia who read my post not to heed to those utopianistic tantrums from some of our politicians and join the discussion table with their dispassionate contribution to move the national train.
