The Royal Bank (TRB) has presented a cheque for Ten Thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 10,000) to the Physically Challenged Action Foundation at Offinso in the Ashanti Region.
The donation was in fulfillment of a promise made by the Bank to the Board Chairman – Dr. K. K Sarpong, as part of his wish to make a donation to a charity of his choice during his 60th birthday celebrations.
Dr Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, the Head of Strategic Planning, Research and Corporate Affairs, presenting the cheque to the Foundation, said the donation was in line with the objectives of the TRB Foundation.
He said the objective was to support communities in the areas of health and education.
Dr Baah-Nuakoh gave the assurance that Physically Challenged Action Foundation (PCAF) would not be left out in the TRB Foundation?s efforts at providing 50 boreholes to 50 communities in a year.
Mr Barima Antwi, who received the cheque on behalf of the PCAF, applauded the Bank for its gesture.
He called for support from other organizations and individuals to maintain the center and its affiliate center at Nkenkansu.
PCAF is a non ? governmental educational institution based in Offinso in the Ashanti Region.
The foundation is aimed at supporting and empowering physically challenged people, who have no other forms of support in society to develop necessary skills to live independent lives.
It also runs the Physically Challenged Training and Rehabilitation Centre at Offinso.
