Striker Samuel Afum has rejoined Young Boys Bern for pre-season
Ghanaian striker Samuel Afum has rejoined Swiss Super League side Young Boys Bern for pre-season ahead of the new Swiss Super League season.
The 22-year-old arrived back in Zurich on Sunday and move quickly to Bern to join his colleague to begin pre-season training.
Afum joined Young Boys at the second half of last season from Egyptian side FC Smouha and enjoyed a wonderful debut season in Europe scoring 5 Super League goals and providing 4 assists.
Young Boys appointed Grasshoppers coach Uli Forte before the end of the season and Afum will begin the new season with the young trainer.
After enjoying a memorable debut season in Europe, the former Ghana Premier League Golden Shoe Winner feels there is more to achieve in the coming season.
?Last season was good but I can still achieve more and improve my performance,? the former Hearts of Oak playmaker told Ghanasoccernet.com.
?There?s a new coach in here and he has some knowledge of me already because I played against his side last season and scored. So I expect things to move well in the coming months.?
Afum completed 13 games for Young Boys last season and netted in 5 of them.
