Ex-Black Stars defender Samuel Osei Kufour has descended heavily on Black Stars head coach Goran “Plavi” Stevanovic for his performance in the just-ended 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon / Equatorial Guinea.
Kufour, who officially retired from active football in December 2011, said the coach failed the very first day he named his final 23.
“We were always sitting on a time bomb with the sort of squad we took to the tournament. The players we took there was only a recipe for disaster” an angry Kufour told Asempa Sports.
“How can a competent coach take three strikers and nini defenders to a tournament with the aim of winning the ultimate,he quizzed?” he asked.
The former Bayern Munich star believes dropping Emmanuel Baffoe who currently leads the goal-king race in the Ghana premier league was very wrong.
“I am very disappointed in the Ghana coach for Ghana’s failure to even reach the final of the AFCON”, he said.
