The Electoral Commissioner of St Augustine?s Past Students’ Union (APSU), has asked aspiring members to fill the executive positions for the biennial general election scheduled for March.

Interested members are to pick forms at its Secretariat at Trade Fair Pavilion E in Accra or download the document from APSU Facebook page or www.apsuworld.org.

Positions to be filled are President, Vice-President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Organising Secretary, Assistant Organising Secretary, Treasurer and Porter.

APSU is an association of past students of St Augustine?s College in Cape Coast, Ghana.

Its membership is open to individual Associates and Honorary Members who shall have to subscribe to the aims and objectives of the association or demonstrate genuine interest in the College and its activities over the years.

The aims and objectives of APSU are: to uphold and promote the ideals for which St Augustine?s College was founded; promote and enhance the welfare and progress of the school; liaise and maintain funds from which aid for the steady development of the College may be provided; promote and encourage learning and high standards of education in the college and the country at large.

Other objectives are to keep, promote, encourage and sustain the spirit of understanding, brotherliness, togetherness, mutual assistance, co-operation and solidarity amongst members of the Union; organise, sponsor and arrange symposia, seminars, workshops and talks to educate members, the college and the community on pertinent issues so as to raise their level of awareness.

APSU currently has regional branches in Takoradi, Cape Coast, Kumasi and Tema.

APSU has external branches in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom and some other countries.

It also operates very vibrant student chapters on the campuses of most of the local universities and polytechnics.
