
The Sunon-Asogli power plant at Kpone in the Greater Accra Region which was shut down a week ago due to damaged equipment is to resume production.
The faulty parts are to be replaced with new ones from China by the close of the week.
As a result a total of 200 mega watts of thermal power will be restored to the national grid.
The plant?s technicians disclosed these during a working visit to the site yesterday by President John Mahama.
Togbe Afede XVI, Chairman of the Board of Sunon-Asogli Company informed the President and his entourage that the company had embarked on a second phase project which would add 180MW to the plant?s capacity by the end of the year.
