Teachers in 80 schools receive laptop computers

wpid-121026030418-windows-8-computers-horizontal-gallery.jpg?Efforts at strengthening information communication technology (ICT) education in Atwima-Mponua District has received a big boost with the presentation of laptop computers to 80 basic school teachers in the area.
The teachers had earlier been taken through intensive ICT training.
Mr. Yaw Asuah-Yeboah, the District Education Director, handed over the computers to the beneficiaries in a ceremony and said they were looking forward to receiving additional 420 to bring the total to 500.
The expectation was that this would bring significant change to classroom performance.
He saidICT had become critical to quality education delivery and that was why everything must be done to ensure that teachers and pupils had access to computers.
Mr Asuah-Yeboah appealed to the school management committees (SMS) and Parent/Teacher Associations to assist not only to build ICT centres for the schools but also to also make sure that these were functional.
