A two-minute trailer for the ‘Diana’ biopic, which will document the last two years of the late Princess Diana’s life and her romance with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan, has been released.
Speaking to a friend in the footage, Diana – who died in a car crash in 1997 – says: “He doesn’t treat me like a princess. It’s almost like he doesn’t know who I am.”
The trailer also features clips of the pair enjoying the early stages of their relationship, during which Hasnat was said to have struggled to deal with the press.
He says: “If I marry you, I have to marry the whole world too.”
The clips mark the end of the former couple’s relationship and goes on to show Diana getting together with Dodi Al Fayed – who is played by Cas Anvar – but he is not shown as the late royal’s last serious love interest.
The movie – which documents the last two year’s of the princess’ life – features Juliet Stevenson as Sonia, a character who is an amalgam of Diana’s friends, and Douglas Hodge as Paul Burrell, the princess’ butler.
The highly anticipated release is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel with a screenplay by playwright Stephen Jeffreys.
