TP Mazembe faces “Dream Team” in Mo Ibrahim Cup

DR Congo giants TP Mezembe will take on a local select side the "Dream Team" in the 2015 Mo Ibrahim Africa United Cup match at the Accra Sports Stadium, on Sunday, November 22.

The match aimed at showcasing African talents and foster unity will see the likes of Abeiku Ainooson, Godfred Saka teaming up with former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, John Mensah together with Godwin Attram and Laryea Kingston to represent the Dream Team.

The event will also draw dignitaries from the globe, past and present President of the country John Dramani Mahama.

Also in attendance will be musicians Gasmila, DJ Black and Shata Walle who have been tasked to entertain fans at the stadium.

The match will climax the annual flagship event of the Mo Ibrahim Annual Governance Weekend.

Speaking at the launch of the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Primeval Media and organizers of the match Mr. Larry Opare Otoo said, he believes the quality players selected will give their opponent a good run for their money.

‘‘We all know TP Mazembe and on the field of play, we will see a wonderful football from our side and i am positive they will win and take the trophy. We have assembled quality players and they will definitely give their opponent a good run for their money.

‘‘The state security will handle the security aspect, so in terms of security, everything is in order’’. He stated.

The Coach of the Dream team and former coach of Hearts of Oak Charles Kwabena Akonnor noted that, the players called will have the opportunity to exhibit their talent and assured all that his charges will attach every bit of seriousness and competitiveness to the match to win the trophy.

Primeval Media in partnership with the Office of the President, the Ministry of Foreign and support from the Ghana Football Association will organize the football match which forms part of activities earmarked for the celebration of the Annual Governance Weekend and aims at showcasing African talents as well as use football as a tool for promoting unity.
