Two killed in Nigeria’s militant attacks on communities

The police in Nigeria have confirmed two people dead in attacks by suspected militants on two communities on the boundary between southwest Ogun and Lagos States.

The Ogun State police spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the figure to Xinhua on Friday.

“Two have been confirmed dead. The militants came again and attacked the communities,” he added.

Local media reported that the militants killed eight residents.

The killings have caused residents of the communities to flee their homes.

The communities are Elepete in Ogun and Igbo-Olomu in Ikorodu North Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The attack is coming three days after a similar incident occurred in Ikorodu between suspected Ijaw militants and a local vigilante group. Enditem
