Two men- Emeka Emezue, 46, and Uchenna Akudike, 40, have been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates? Court, Lagos for a two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping.
The accused who were arraigned today, 9th of December 2014, and  reside at No. 2, Ojuolape St., Magbon- Badagry in Lagos State,  have however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Eranus Nnamonu, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Nov.4 at 4p.m kidnapped one Chisom Okechukwu taking him to an undisclosed location;
“The defendants waylaid the complainant at about 4p.m. on Nov. 4 on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and forced him into their vehicle.
“They drove him to an undisclosed location against his will,” Nnamonu said.
The prosecution said that the offences contravened Sections 269 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Section 269 prescribes 10 years imprisonment for anyone who unlawfully captures and detains another against his/her will. Meanwhile, The Magistrate, Mrs Abimbola Komolafe,  adjourned the case untill Jan. 22, 2015 for mention. She has also granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned
