The Ghana international opened his goal account for new club in the elite division on Saturday

Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso was on target in Panathinaikos’ 3-0 away win over Levadiakos on the opening day of the Greek Super League.

The 26-year-old lasted the entire duration of the game played at the Levadias Stadium on Saturday, opening his topflight account for the Greens with a cool finish in the 37th minute.

He has already made four appearances for the side in the Uefa Europa League.

Christian Ledesma broke the deadlock after eight minutes, before Wakaso got on the end of a Marcus Berg assist to make it 2-0.

Sebastian Leto then wrapped up three points for Andre Stramaccioni’s charges 16 minutes to full time, ably aided by Giandomenico Mesto.

The Athens-based side have consequently taken an early lead on the standing ahead of Sunday’s fixtures.

Following a loan stint at La Liga side Las Palmas last season, where he netted once in 20 league outings, Wakaso joined Panathinaikos in July from Russian outfit Rubin Kazan on a three-year deal.

He previously played with Elche, Villarreal and Espanyol in Spain as well as Scottish giants Celtic.
