Nowghana can confirm that the Member of Parliament (MP) for Walensi in the Northern Region, Alhaji Saani Idi, has been pronounced dead by doctors at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.
The MP who was one of the few independent parliamentarians in the House, was receiving treatment for a liver disease at the hospital before his untimely death.
A frail looking Alhaji Idi was pronounced clinically dead last Friday.
