
Kaduna State Governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has solicited for support from traditional rulers and youths from the Southern part of the state for peaceful conduct of the 2015 general elections.
The governor, who spoke through the Deputy Governor, Ambassador Nuhu Audu Bajoga at a parley held separately with the traditional rulers and youths in Zonkwa, Zango Kataf LGA yesterday said there can be no development without peace.
He noted that at political times like this when the political space is heating up, the traditional institutions must rise up to defend their communities by emphasizing on the need for politicians to tolerate and accommodate each other and not to engage in blackmail.
While observing that disagreement is not uncommon in politics, Yero said the people must tolerate and accommodate one another adding that unity must be placed above all considerations in politics.
In his response, the chief of Kagoro, Mr. Ufuai Bonet thank the governor and assured that traditional rulers would play their fatherly role before, during and after the elections to ensure peace reign in the state.
