Amos Chanda, the presidential spokesperson, said Lungu has terminated the contract of Emmanuel Chilubamana, who was permanent secretary for State House in a letter dated August 29.
“I am writing to inform you that I have terminated your services as permanent secretary with immediate effect. I wish you the best in your future endeavors,” Lungu said, according to the terse statement.
No reasons have been given but local media have reported that the Zambian leader’s aide had allegedly organized ruling party youths who attacked the head of the country’s soccer governing body during a church service on Sunday.
Andrew Kamanga, president of the Football Association of Zambia, was attacked by ruling party youths immediately after attending a church service in Lusaka, the country’s capital.
Lungu had also attended the same service and the attacks could have been triggered after a video circulated online in which the soccer chief had attended a press briefing for the main opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema.
The soccer chief reported the attack to the police. Enditem
