Former captain of the Black Stars Stephen Appiah who led Ghana to the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 2006 has advised Ghanaians not to expect much from the players because other countries are preparing better.

Speaking on GH One TV “Sports Chat” show he noted that Ghanaians over rate themselves and look down upon other teams.
He advised football fans to be humble and lie low in rebuilding a winsome team.
Laryea Kingson who was contributing to the last edition of the programme specially telecasted for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations said there must be an overhauling of the team as the coach is likely to leave as he failed the task given him.
He wanted a system of football that would run through from the juvenile to the senior teams.
Augustine Arhinful, another former Black Stars player said there must be a good coach to take Ghana forward, as he was disappointed in Aram Grant, especially with his changes.
Stephen Appiah said Grant added nothing to the Black Stars, which was not good.
“He never had interest in some players, there is no transition from under 20 to under 23 and to the Black Stars” he revealed.
