China has set a sound example on economic and industrial growth that could shed light on Namibia and other African countries’ growth, an African Development Bank (AfDB) economist said here on Thursday.
Jesus Filipe, AfDB Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department adviser, told an annual symposium organized by the Bank of Namibia that the country needs to enhance its engagement with China in ways that allow its economy to grow and and also promote knowledge sharing.
He said Namibia needs to work on a broad spectrum of initiatives to move its economy to prosperity.
“Namibia faces a few challenges economically but it has several opportunities for growth that can be exploited for improvement,” he said.
He added that China has created a platform to trade with Namibia and other African countries in all industries. Enditem
