Members of Muslim communities have been advised not to engage in activities that has the tendency of creating conflict in the country before, during and after the up-coming general elections and disassociate themselves and disown those whose sole intension is to create conflict situations in society.
The Dzasetse of Nii-Boiman Divisional Council, Nii Adzedu I, who gave the advice during a meeting with some Muslim Chiefs in Accra stressed that such acts are against the tenets of the laws of the land.
Being a Muslim himself, Nii Adzedu pointed out that the believe held by some that the Islamic religion was founded on the principle of violence, and as such engaging in violent activities is the hallmark of the Islamic faith is a wrong notion.
According to him, Islam is a peaceful religion that preaches virtue such as oneness, peace, tolerance, love and care but against any other social vices on humanity.
He further pointed out that any Muslim who engages in violent activities is not a true worshiper of the Islamic faith, describing such people as a bunch of criminals who have nothing good to offer the country than to destroy the very society in which they live.
However, Nii Dzedu disclosed that some non-Muslims, by virtue of their ability to understand and speak a few of the Muslim languages have adopted Muslim names and perpetuate all kinds of violence under the guise of Islam.
He noted that such behavior tarnishes the image of the Islamic religion as well as the name of the Muslim communities, and therefore called on all well meaning Muslims to disassociate themselves from such people and expose them.
The meeting, which was under the invitation of the Dzasetse of the Asere Stool and Principal Kingmaker of the Ga State, Nii Armakai III was to deliberate on the formation of the Ga State Council.
