The fourth American Chambers of Commerce (AmCham) annual summit of member countries in Africa will commence from 11th to 12th February, 2014, in Accra.
The conference, to be hosted by the Africa Bureau of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will be attended by AmCham members from sub-Sahara Africa, officials of Ghana and U.S. governments and executives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The theme for the two-day summit is, ?Building the American Brand in Africa.?
The participants will discuss various strategies designed to drive the growth of U.S. private sector investment and bi-lateral trade with Africa.
Participants will also discuss U.S. government policies and initiatives aimed at accelerating the development of African economies.
Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur?will be the special guest of honour at the opening ceremony on 11th?November while Minister for Trade & Industry, Haruna Iddrisu will address a business lunch session.
Kwame Pianim, a renowned Ghanaian economist and businessman, will additionally share his experiences on businesses and make suggestions to increase U.S. investment and trade in Africa.
Various U.S. government officials, including the U.S. Ambassador to Ghana, Gene Cretz, will discuss their government?s role in providing financing and mitigating risk, as well as, how to leverage U.S. government agencies to advance trade, investment and development.
Representatives of the African Development Bank will present their ground-breaking research on the growth potential of African economies and the bank?s private sector financing programmes for infrastructure development, manufacturing and agri-business.
Members of AmCham will share their experiences and success stories on engagement and doing business on the African continent.
