The District Chief Executive officer for Sekyere South Hon Edward Kusi Ayarkwa has been awarded the best national D.C.E by the African Media Consult for working tirelessly in offering the district the deserving face lift in?areas of development over? the past four years.
?? The award which recognizes other outstanding performance of Hon Ayarkwa in the like education, health, sanitation, road construction among others came out as a challenge to all fellow District Chief Executives officers to put up their best in the delivering of their official duties.
Under the administration of Hon Ayarkwa the district has lived to witnessed the construction of remarkable facilities like? an Information Communication Technology (ICT) laboratory of the Konadu Yiadom Senior High School (SHS) at Agona Asamang, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Office complex and a six-unit staff quarters for the assembly?s staff? which was completed on September 2, 2011all at Agona.
At Bedomase, Hon Edward Ayarkwa has succeeded in the construction of a? three-unit classroom block for the Bedomase District Assembly (DA) Primary School, a four-unit classroom Kindergarten at Agona, an? extension of a pipeline to the Komfo Anokye SHS at Wiamoase, rehabilitation of a Magistrate Court at Agona, the cconstruction of two of a six-unit classroom blocks with ancillary facilities at Bepoase and Funifuni, a three-unit classroom block at Kokoteasua, Male and Female Wards at the Agona Hospital? and a borehole mechanization at Domeabra, Kwamang and Akrofonso.
The assembly under the administration of Hon Kusi Ayarkwa has completed the construction of 33 Institutional Latrines at Wiamoase, Agona and other communities plus a host of other achievements.
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude for the award in an interview with the Moment, Hon Kusi Ayarkwa stressed the award not to have come on a silver platter but through his?undiluted and?a multi-dimensional contribution,punctuated with an unwavering appetite, flair and expertise in the development of the district? despite the demanding and the challenging nature of the terrain.
The foregoing hall marks of achievement he indicated as forming part? of the fulfilment of his pledge of ensuring a better living condition for all within the district, hopping to carry on with the good work touching areas like the construction of a befitting road networks linking communities like Afamase, Bedumase, Bepua, Funifuni, Kokote, Gyamase and others.
Education standing as one of his major focus, Hon Ayarkwa promised coming out with an initiative that will seek to award best performing teachers within the district , a strategy that will boost the level of academics? ,construction of more teacher residents, awarding of student scholarships, a plus to the hundred existing scholarships on record.
