ILAPI launches its Center for Coin Liberty to impact policy and regulatory framework in Ghana

The inaugural launch of the new research center at the Institute for Liberty and Policy Innovation (ILAPI) had the honor of Mr. Selorm Brantie as the chairman of the occasion who aided in launching the new center thus Center for Coin Liberty.

Mr. Selorm Brantie is a Global Strategy Director for mPedigree, the leading giant in using innovative mobile technologies to counter faking Products using technology. He has been responsible for expanding service under the mandate of NAFDAC in Nigeria and ensuring technology to industries including but not limited to Automotive, Cosmetics, Textiles, and several Fast-Moving Consumer Goods brands.

At the inaugural launch of the Center for Coin Liberty, Mr. Brantie mentioned that though he is popularly known in the public policy space in Ghana through various activism to ensure good governance, and promote better economic and prudent fiscal policy as a founding member of the IMANI Center for Policy & Education, he has also been involved in using technological innovations in solving problems of across Africa.

Mr. Selorm Brantie, the chairman of the inaugural event of the Center of Coin Liberty, a new research center at ILAPI, mentioned among other things that, blockchain technology presents opportunities for the future. Mr. Brantie with the singular our adored Mr. Nathaniel Dwamena, as the Director to man the new research center at the Institute for Liberty and Policy Innovation. In his concluding remarks, he mentioned that blockchain uses alphanumeric address which cannot be easily memorized and there is a real-world situation where the court has summoned some hackers by serving writ on the blockchain to the unique address that undertook offense of causing cyber-attack.

The Center for Coin Liberty is focused on blockchain policy research, education, and advocacy and seeks to influence policies to incorporate blockchain solutions and adoption. The Center has Cardano and Project Catalyst as its main partners and this is helpful to the Cardano community to have one of its goals focused on Africa. In building policies preparedness for Ghana and Africa, the work at the Center for Coin Liberty would be crucial to policymakers in Ghana and Africa at large.

The inaugural launch was occasioned at the Christ the King Parish Hall on Thursday 16th June 2022. The event had the presence of several prominent individuals including the award-winning Professor in Leadership and Management at Viterbo University, Prof Enoch Antwi, and Dr. Richmond Abbey, Governance and Security Analyst in Ghana.

The event had several mainstream media and radio presence including The Finder Newspaper, Rainbow Radio Online, GHOne TV, Power FM, TV XYZ, eTV Ghana, Homebase TV, Class FM, News Ghana and Republic Press.

In all, the inaugural launch was successful and insightful. The work of the Center for Coin Liberty would go a long way to impacting policy and regulatory framework in Ghana, and I believe this is great for us all now and in the future.
