Kenyan bourse indices rebound as stocks recover

All the key index of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) recovered on Tuesday as stocks rebounded to record gains across the board.

The NSE 20 Share Index rose 35.66 points to close at 3,308.88 from a low of 3,273.22 in the previous trading session. The index had declined 60.14 points on Monday to sink to the new low.

On Tuesday, some of the stocks that boosted the key index were Athi River Mining 4 percent and KenolKobil 3 percent. Other stocks that gained during the session included Kakuzi 6 percent and Unga 5 percent.

On the other hand, the All Share Index similarly increased to stand at 173.82 from 172.36 while the NSE 25 Share Index surged to stand at 4,504.91 from a low of 4,454.13.

Some 17 million shares worth 6.4 million U.S. dollars were transacted on Tuesday, a slight drop from 25 million shares valued at 6.6 million dollars in the Monday session. Enditem
