Christened, “Mount Zion Methodist Society”, with “Unshakable” as its slogan, it is the fourth society under the yet-to-be inaugurated Siwdo Circuit, which was carved out of the Cape Coast Circuit last year.
Bishop of the Cape Coast Diocese, the Right Reverend Ebenezer Abaka-Wilson , in a sermon, admonished Christians to play their various roles in the church effectively and also to work as a team to accelerate the growth of the church.
He expressed worry over indiscipline and corruption in work places and urged Christians to distinguish themselves, stand for the truth at all times, and be bold and courageous to correct wrong doing in the society at large.
Rt. Rev. Abaka-Wilson advised Christians , especially the youth, to concentrate and also participate fully in church activities .
They should also desist from browsing social media networks or fidgeting with their mobile phones at church functions
The Mt. Zion Society started as a dawn prayer meeting in one of the classrooms of the Maxwell Rabb Preparatory School at Adisadel, in 2003, and became a preaching post in 2008, with a few adult members and their children from the Ebenezer Society, its mother organisation.
For giving one of his classrooms to be used for service and donating a parcel of land on which a church building is being constructed, Mr. Justice Korsah, the proprietor of the School, was presented with a citation of honour, while others who contributed in diverse ways were also recognised.
