The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the New Juaben Hon. Alex Asamoah has cautioned the youth against acts of lawlessness and electoral malpractices during and after the elections, urging political leaders and their supporters to refrain from unnecessary political arguments that might cause violence.
?We must all remember that we are one people with a common destiny, striving hard to preserve and sustain the peace Ghana is enjoying,? Hon. Alex Asamoah added.
The MCE Hon. Asamoah made this remarks at the second assembly sitting in the new Juaben municipal assembly in Koforidua in the Eastern Region. The meeting was chaired by the MCE for New Juaben.
Hon. Alex Asamoah further noted that since the NDC took office, there has been tremendous improvement in the education sector especially in the new juaben municipality, which most of the Junior High Schools this year have improved in the BECE exams, where percentage pass for 2011 and 2012 was encouraging, the teachers are working hard for students to come out with flying colours during their exams.
He told the house that the new Juaben municipality have so far gotten its fair share of the national cake which through the ministry of local government and rural development have procured three hundred street bulbs, which fifty of its have been fixed, the assembly has also assist people with disability with an amount of 67.215.90 Ghana cedis from last year.
The assembly has received a total revenue of 4.304.603.16 Ghana Cedis from various sources as at September 2012 and this is out of expected revenue of 8.395.342 Ghana cedis? budget for the year, elaborating that the shortfalls largely attributed to the expected revenue to be derived from the common fund and revenue from the assembly newly constructed stores.
He assured the assembly members that as soon as the external grants are received from the government deficits will be considerably reduced.
